Temporary installation at Franconia Sculpture Park.

Set in the hill near the highway the windows “look into” the park. The intent was to create an interior space - an outside/ inside sense of placement.

“Dead Mall Lab”

Created at Apache Plaza (supposedly the second shopping mall ever built) and in 2004 it had a total of two stores sill “open”. The instillation was created in the back of the old Montgomery Wards and the once white floors were the color and consistency of dirt - which took about 12 scrubbings to clean the 16x16 foot space. Specimens were collected over a week long period of installation and a lot of exploration of the mall was the main focus of the project. The final critique was attended by Constantin Boym and he was extremely complementarity and wonderful. I wish it could still be up (it was a hell of a week) but alas - the mall is now gone and these photos are all I have left...

“The Kitchen Companion Lamp”

The idea was “grow your own food - right in your own kitchen.” It was a bit of a tongue in cheek look at lighting and enclosed ecosystems - the fish waste water feeds the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish...

"Sit on my face"

Furniture as a self portrait. This is a very low two seater chair/couch thing made from this amazing tree that was in my mom and dad’s back yard. It had started to grow naturally that way and became completely hollow on the inside.
